Better Hot Chocolate

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

It's supposed to get really cold this weekend - perfect for hot chocolate. Although, when is it NOT hot chocolate weather?!

One of my favorite things about hot chocolate is you can make it a nutrient dense indulgence just by tweaking some of the ingredients.

I'm asked a lot about healthier hot chocolate recipes, so here is the one I use.

I prefer this "grown up" creamier version to the watered down stuff I was used to. I also like a little bonus spice in mine. Cayenne pepper does the trick :)

Enjoy!

Ingredients:

- 2 cups full fat canned coconut milk (look out for preservatives)

- Drizzle of vanilla

- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder

- 2 Tbls maple syrup

- 1 cup water

Instructions:

1.) Combine all of the ingredients over medium heat.  Don’t allow to come to a boil.

2.) Whisk until well combined and serve :)

Don't forget to post on Instagram with #abundelicious. I want to see what your bark looks like!
