Hi! I'm Sarah.

The roots of my love for food and nutrition are personal ones. When I was little, my father and grandmother taught me not only how to cook (REAL butter only - thank you Julia Child!), but also the importance of food as a backdrop to so many life moments.

Then, in my 20's, my relationship with food changed drastically.

I was experiencing heaps of anxiety (debilitating panic attacks to be exact), digestive issues, and serious sleepiness at 2:30pm each day.  This was all especially frustrating because I thought I was doing everything "right".  I was eating low fat, counting calories, and eating lots of whole wheat.

I went to see what feels like dozens of doctors and specialists.  They were able to suggest a lot of different pills for symptomatic relief, but no long term solutions.  I keep asking "WHY am I feeling this way?"  Finally, I found a practitioner that listened.  The problem was my diet, and very shortly after I made the necessary changes, I felt better than I had in a long time.  I actually started enjoying a greater abundance of flavors and foods than I had been before.  I began to see how I could use my love of food to help in my healing process.  I was sold!

Around this same time, I was advocating for my father during his health issues and felt frustrated with the feeling of powerlessness we had. We weren't given any tools regarding nutrition or self care. We were not included in the conversation around how we could take charge of his health and wellness. His healthcare was happening "to" us not "with" us.

I started Abundelicious because I don't want people to feel helpless like I did. I want to help them feel empowered and live their best and most vibrant lives with an integrative team of practitioners in their corner supporting them.

My love affairs (besides nutritious food, of course) consist of travelling, gardening, my dog Mona, my cat Woodrow, history documentaries and tostadas.  I've also recently taken up birding, so if you ever want to talk birds, you know where to find me.

Thanks for reading!  xo, Sarah

TESTIMONIALS

"In a world where everyone is an expert, Sarah used her gifts to help me find and honor my inner expert, thereby renewing my confidence that I do know what works for me and can joyfully meet those needs.

Thanks to her, I am a less overwhelmed, more authentic version of myself. Food and I have a more harmonious relationship and I am truly nourished."

I am enjoying lunch more now than perhaps ever before in my adult life...and I thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

What an amazing experience!!! I came to Sarah with not the best diet, eating habits, and trying to plan meals for 3 small children and a husband. Through conversations, meal planning, education, and much needed moral support she was able to transform all of that.

We now embrace the importance of what we put in our bodies and how it makes us feel. Sarah took the "fear" out of healthy cooking by educating us on reading labels, portions, and an overall knowledge of healthy foods.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah and her program.
